Employee badges, membership cards, visitor passes — plastic cards are durable, portable and standard-sized. With your own card printer you can produce customized, secure cards on demand, in color or monochrome, and encode them with magnetic stripes or RFID chips for access control.
Printing options
- Color (dye sublimation)
- A YMCK ribbon is transferred by the print head at 300 dpi, producing up to 16 million shades. A clear overlay protects the card from wear and UV fading.
- Monochrome (thermal transfer)
- A single color — black, white, blue, red, gold or silver. The most cost-effective way to personalize pre-printed cards, and the usual choice for barcodes.
- Direct vs. retransfer
- Direct printers print onto the card; retransfer printers print onto film first for edge-to-edge results on uneven cards. We'll recommend the right one.
Security & durability
- UV panel
- A fluorescent image visible only under UV light — a cost-effective defense against fake cards.
- Lamination
- Polyester film protects cards from heat, pressure and wear.
- Rewritable cards
- Thermochromic cards that can be erased and reprinted — ideal for visitor passes.
- Encoding
- Magnetic stripe, contact chip and contactless (RFID) encoding to store data on the card.
